My Art Manifesto Posted by: Aaron Rackley

An artist needs no limitations and the imagination should not be capped. When creating an artist should be in the moment and paint /draw what he/she feels. Logic should be thrown out of the window and replaced with imagination, dreams and experience. We are not limited by any means no restrictions.

New Semester – New Start Posted by: Aaron Rackley

So 2009 drew to an end and 2010 came in with fruitless excitement.
After a week battling hard to get my semester 1 project i was at uni almost everyday batting hard and sleeping less. Eventually it was hand in day and not everything was completed. BAD TIMES.
So what to do in this situation. Well i decided as i am a Graphic Design student i would just make everyone look professional and good, then the work i have produced will hopefully speak for the work i have yet to do.

So what now? Well simples. (and yes simples is now a word, don’t you just love viral marketing bringing in new sayings for me to use randomly to make me smile).
Last saturday i finally moved into my new Uni flat with my new Amazing uni housemates. :)
So far so good . They are amazing company and of course they know how to party. So sunday i meet a load of new people and i am drunk in no time, and of course just to embarrass myself completely i am sick and fall asleep next to it. GOOD TIMES.

So another night out on Wednesday at OCEANA in kingston and what a night it was. Non stop partying hard. Some good house and drum and bass got e going at one point and after that i was in the disco lounge dancing to grease and all the usual. So more to come i am hoping as university life for me is just beginning and only at the sweet age of 22.

So what is ahead for semester 2. Well lots more work and another essay. So how to approach this problem? It is simples again.
1. Make sure i do work when it is set
2. Make sure i do work when it is set
3. Make sure i have not left it until the last minute to do.

I believe if i follow these simple 3 rules. Semester 2 for me should be fun, productive and most of all Brilliant.
So here is to another Semester and to much more partying.

This has also been published on my personal blog http://aaronrackley.sgserver.co.uk

X-Mas Break Posted by: Aaron Rackley

Hey All ,

I have not posted for a while, simple reason being due to the government and my Mother messing up my Student Loan application forms and stuff i still have not got my loan through which means the past 2 weeks i have had to miss Uni.

However good news on Friday i finally got that letter through which i signed and means i should very shortly get a very nice amount in my bank account to get back to uni and do stuff once again.

If you have had trouble with student loans please tell me i want all the worse stories i can get a little project of mine.

Hand In Posted by: Aaron Rackley

I have now handed in what i have managed to complete this week regarding our Books. NOT A LOT. being ill has resulted in the book being almost over half not being finished and i am not happy this has happened. I will still be working on it as the final project hand in date is January but we have now moved on to our next project and i will have to start this to make sure i do not fall behind.

All our tutors keep saying that we have be more visual seductive. So i have decided to call my book  ’Become Visually Seductive’ .

Filler Update Posted by: Aaron Rackley

So after waiting hours for the mould to set yesterday i finally removed the piece. 1 Flaw was the design of the typeface. As some points of the type where small while the parts on top of that were bigger resulted in the model breaking in three places. Not what i had planned but it could have been worse.

So after making up some more filler and superglueing the parts back together and sanding down the model is now ready for me to get photographed which i will post once done.

And an update on the police problem in Bromley , the problem was that someone was beaten to death on halloween night…. Not a good thing.

Pre – Graphic Design Posted by: Aaron Rackley

I am sure before we all ventured into the world of Graphic Design we started else where. Well i went to college and studied Technical Theatre which included Theatre / Set Design – Sound Engineering – Lighting Designer – Costume Maker / Designer.

I worked on a few projects along side another designer called Mike Lees and some of these shows have been toured around the country including a children’s show called Professor Bumm’s Story Machine which also featured on BBC Children’s show the slammer. So why am i telling you this.. I was on youtube seeing what i could find when i came accross a video of the show i designed and built the set for and reminded me of how fun Set Design was…. :) So here is the video please enjoy
